There are lots of good and bad stories of experiences with the health care system regardless of the ailment.
What experiences with doctors have you had while dealing with Parkinson’s? Do you have any recommendations of things to do?… ‘of things to never do?

I’m curious about “Alternative” treatments. I’m skeptical about some of the mainstream approaches to treatment, and would like to know if you can suggest holistic, natural, et. al. treatments for me?
I found this site trying to determine if I should go to my doctor. I have a tremor but no other symptoms listed on this site.
There is a disease often mistaken for Parkinson’s disease called essential tremor. Essential Tremor can be treated with alcohol unlike Parkinson’s. You should go to your doctor either way.

My mother went to a neurologist last week because she has a tremor. He told her Parkinsons is like a syndrome and is diagnosed as such when two of five symptoms are present. She only has the tremor which led him to conclude that she has what he termed “familial tremor”. He said it is hereditary and usually passed on the father’s side of the family. He prescribed a medication to help reduce the tremor. We don’t know yet if it is helping her or not.
Fred, you don’t want to drink yourself under the table to treat this. First, go to your doctor and ask about some home remedies or possibly medication.
